The famous fashion designer ELIE TAHARI arrived in Istanbul for the opening of his boutique. Demet Sabancı Çetindoğan and Cengiz Çetindoğan hosted a special party for Elie Tahari.

The son of an Iranian Jewish family, Elie Tahari was obliged to live in an orphanage in Israel when he separated from his family. At the age of nineteen, he left the orphanage and settled in the US. While working as an electrical technician during the day and as a sales representative in various stores at night, he suddenly became acquainted with the world of fashion and now, he is a fashion designer the whole world recognizes…
His collection consists of clothes that are simple and elegant at the same time, as well as stylish, the type that appeals to the urban woman. The colors of copper, black, dark grey, cream, and powder; silk dresses, fuzzy skirts, fur details; suits of pants and jackets or skirts are some of the pieces that attract attention at the first glance. The glitter in night outfits and the comfort in day outfits are in the foreground. A superb outlook is created through the use of accessories in daily outfits.
In his opening speech, Elie Tahari praised Istanbul: “Istanbul is running towards the goal of becoming the fashion capital. The most significant brands of the world have almost invaded Istanbul, and this makes us very proud.”
Elie Tahari’s collection is casual; as he personally prefers a casual style of dressing, he works on the theme of comfort in his designs on male and female collections. His designs, which demonstrate elegance, are modern, sophisticated, and free of exaggeration.
Celebrities from the world of business, art, and politics were present at the party. The ladies were very stylish. The famous jazz musician Ilhem Khodja added color to the evening with the pieces she performed.
Elie Tahari states that “A woman’s beauty comes from the inside and is revealed through her feeling of self-confidence.” He also adds that he has a timeless style. The Elie Tahari brand is represented in 40 countries and has 600 stores in the United States.
